2006-01-19 [iippo]: In WritersCo you can use the superwiki to upload word documents (and html-pages too I think o.O), so that could be used the same way in this thing. I think the music uploading works the same in Musmaker (straight to the superwiki page). But the interesting question is: can you only use either one (film or text) in superwiki, or can you upload either filetype (and which filetype would be used for films). There is also the higher priv -chance, like in ET, which allows you to upload any filetype, which could be given to people who actually make film, rather than just appreciate them.

2006-01-19 [Paz]: Yes, there are plans for a higher priv for those who make films. WritersCo's superwikis will work for screenplays because they aren't as hard to handle as several wiki pages. I have no idea what the programming will do to go into this, maybe there could be a way to convert the already made for sound superwikis of MusMakers into handling image files that move. It shouldn't be hard because you can upload animations here, although I haven't seen any with sound, which might be where the MusMakers superwikis can come in. 

2006-01-19 [iippo]: So there would be a scale of uploading-possibility for film-makers: moving pictures (animated gifs), short films with sound (avi/mov/any other movie filetype, up to a certain filesize only), proper films (any size any filetype)? So a film-maker of lower priv can make an animated gif as a taster, and then people of higher positions can decide if they can have their privs upped for uploading the whole shanagang to the server.

2006-01-19 [Trennas]: normally speaking it should be no problem whatsoever to determine the files people can upload (and which not), it can all be set in advance..

2006-01-19 [Paz]: It should be all set in advance, so the members know what they can and cannot upload. That sounds good, having a shorter animated gif to start, then moving it up slowly from there. Also it will have to apply to members who follow the rules. Say if they have broken quite a few of the rules with the animation gif priv then they will not be granted a higher priv for quite awhile. The members should be able to request the animation priv and then from there the council can grant higher privs.
